It's a miracle!

On saturday we celebrated Steve's 28th Birthday. And he got the greatest gift of all times!

I'M PREGNANT!

I dont think he even believes it after 3 positive pregnacy tests and a doctor appointment confirming! HAHA It will be more real to him when he comes to our first doc appointment December 3rd.

Now, don't get me wrong.. He is extremely happy. It just hasn't sunk in yet. And honestly, I hardly believe it myself. My nerves are going crazy right now! I'm soo excited! I recorded Steve when he opened his birthday card with the test in it and he's speechless and crying tears of joy! He's thrilled.

My 1st appointment was this morning and I am 5 weeks. We have decided not to share this with our friends or family until Thanksgiving. We just want to make sure we are closer to the safe zone. And we are ONLY 5 weeks... A lot could happen. Praying that nothing does happen but you never know.

I have decided a while back that I wanted to document every week from the time we found out so that is the reason I am blogging this today. Risking that someone may read it, although I am pretty doubtful that some one will.

At week 5, baby robert is the size of an apple seed! And is already forming major organs such as heart, stomach, liver and kidney. Baby R also looks like a tadpole. (creepy)

Some symptoms that I am having are: Gas like a dude, burping like a frat boy, peeing like a horse and my boobs are KILLING ME! Other than that, I feel amazing.

I can not wait to start doing weekly pictures!

Until week 6! :)

Our Weekend...

We went sailing!

Our friends Leland and Melissa won 4 tickets in an auction and invited us to go with them. It was on Lake Champlain in Burlington. It was absolutely beautiful. Even if there wasn't wind (!!) We basically just floated around the lake. Either way, it was a blast.
A beautiful picture of the sun at around 5pm.
Hubby and I on the boat <3
And obvi I had to dress for the occasion. Love my new boat shoes!

It was great weekend. We love going to VT to visit with Leland, Mel and their fur baby Eli. Who happens to be Roscoes BFF.

A lot of mine and Mel's conversations were based around pregnancy. We are both hoping to be preggers at around the same time so our little kiddies can grow up together (from 2 states apart). When we were saying our goodbyes, we were saying "Well, hopefully next visit, we will be bumpin baby bumps!!!" So crossing my fingers!!!!

Getting started

So I am redoing my blog after 3 years of having it (and not using it) I thought now would be a good time to start keeping track of what our lives are about.

So, obviously the title of this blog is "On our journey to parenthood." My main reason for this blog is to track the process my husband and I are taking to becoming parents. I'm not trying to document every moment we are shacked up in our room but I do want something to look back on, down the road.

A little history:

My name is Justine. I am 25 years old and I work as a administrative assistant for a local industrial supplier. My husbands name is Steve, he is 27 (going to be 28 SOON) and he does welding and sheet metal. We have been married for 4 years and today makes exactly one year since we bought our first home. So basically all we need now is a baby! If it were only that easy, right?

We are going on month 2 of trying. I know it has only been like 1 day since we have actually REALLY started trying for baby....But I must say....I was a wee bit disappointed when Aunt Rose came to visit last week. I think it was just the excitement that I could have possibly been pregnant. But I'm not so now Steve gets to enjoy baby making for a little while longer.

For now I will continue reading "What to expect before your expecting" and enjoy my cuddle time with this little mister..
